Tapco by Mackie SW.10 Active Studio Subwoofer

Tapco by Mackie SW.10 Active Studio Subwoofer from Tapco
  • Easy hook-up
  • Acoustic suspension design
  • left and right inputs for both balanced and unbalanced connectors
  • Auto cooling
  • Linkwitz-Riley designed active crossover

Developed by the renowned Mackie studio monitor team, the SW•10 Active Studio subwoofer destroys anything in its class—both in sound quality and looks. The huge sounding, yet compact TAPCO SW•10 "mini-sub" offers devastatingly loud, punchy, and precise low-end down to 34 Hz—which is pretty damn low. It can be used in a variety of applications, including small project studios, surround sound editing, home theater playback, and desktop audio workstations. With its huge bass, full, powerful sound, and superior performance, the SW•10 is the perfect compact subwoofer to add necessary thump to a stereo or surround monitoring system made up of S•5 and S•8 desktop monitors.

Control
The SW•10 Active Studio Subwoofer employs an acoustic suspension design for tight, articulate bass, which provides an amazingly flat and linear low-frequency response down to 34 Hz. In other words, it's tight and low. Variable input sensitivity lets you adjust the volume so it's just right for your system. The onboard Active crossover is a Linkwitz-Riley design—usually found in much higher end speakers—providing a low end range of 55 Hz to 110 Hz at 24 dB/octave. The individual crossover controls for the left and right channels provide additional flexibility in surround sound applications with a subwoofer output and bass management (LFE). Finally, there's a polarity reverse switch for optimizing the performance of the SW•10 with the other speakers in your system.

I/O Low-down
The SW•10 hooks up easily with any system. Left and right inputs are provided on both balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA connectors. The SW•10 also offers dual high-Pass Outputs (also on XLR and RCA connectors) for connecting Active monitors like the S•5s and S•8s, or passive speakers through a separate power amplifier. The SW•10's crossover splits off all of the bass frequencies from the incoming audio signals and sends the mids and highs to separate studio monitors. This way, the SW•10 focuses on the boom, and the other speakers handle the rest for improved efficiency and overall clarity.

Protecting your investment
Accidents happen, so we added some dope circuitry just to keep your SW•10 performing its best. The SW•10 is tuned to maximize efficiency, but it can get hot if you run it loud for long periods. If the electronics get too hot, a thermal switch activates and shuts down the amplifier until it's cool again. A peak limiter circuit also monitors the amplifier output signal to guard against clipping and overloading the amplifier. This allows for loud punchy bass performance without distortion, and ensures long-term reliability.

The SW?10 Active Studio Subwoofer joins the popular S?5 and S?8 monitors in TAPCO's active studio monitor lineup. Developed by the renowned Mackie studio monitor team, the SW?10 outperforms anything in its class - both sonically and aesthetically. This versatile and compact "mini-sub" offers loud, punchy, and precise low-end down to 34 Hz. With its natural bass, full, powerful sound and superior frequency response, the SW?10 is the perfect compact subwoofer to add low-down thump to your tracks. Mackie HRS120 12" Studio Subwoofer

Mackie HRS120 12" Studio Subwoofer from Mackie
  • HRS120 Specifications
  • Acoustic Performance
  • Free field frequency response 21Hz ? 150Hz ±1
  • 5dB
  • LF cut-off frequency ?3dB at 19Hz

If you're putting together a matched system, the HRS120 is designed to work in perfect harmony with our HR824, HR624 and HR626 Active Near Field Monitors. The THX-approved Mackie HRS120 is a 12" Active subwoofer ideal for applications where precise, low frequency reproduction, and flexible monitoring are a must. Designed for professional recording studios and film/video surround post-production facilities that require extremely accurate bass extension to 19Hz and below, the HRS120 is also an excellent choice for home theater surround sound installations.

BUILT-IN FR SERIES POWER AMPLIFIER
What better way to power the subwoofer than with one of our acclaimed FR Series "Fast Recovery" power amplifiers? Our FR design uses low negative feedback, yet allows the amplifier to maintain low distortion and stability, even when driven into clipping. We built a beefy 400-watt FR amplifier for the HRS120, capable of extracting the maximum "thumpage" from the premium-quality 12" LF driver, without driving it into meltdown. Which brings us to the speakers...

THE TRANSDUCERS
The HRS120 subwoofer features a bottom-firing 12" die-cast frame woofer and a 12" passive radiator in the front. The unique passive radiator design provides a smooth response down to 19Hz—an astounding accomplishment for a cabinet of this size! And since the radiator is adding to the output at the lowest frequencies, very little distortion is generated because the woofer stays well within its excursion limits.

VERSATILITY
The HRS120 subwoofer features a bottom-firing 12" premium, die-cast frame woofer and a 12" passive radiator mounted in the front. This unique design provides smooth response all the way down to 19Hz—an astounding accomplishment for a cabinet this size! Since the passive radiator's output is effectively coupled to the room's air mass, the woofer stays well within its excursion limits, producing distortion-free deep, rich bass.

VALUE OVER PASSIVE SYTEMS?
Passive loudspeakers require external power amps, crossovers, and equalizers, costing you extra money—and unless you're an electronics engineer, you just might be over- or under-powering your system, which could lead to expensive repairs! Since all necessary processing and amplification is included within its enclosure, the HRS120 stands out as an exceptional value. You can rest assured that all components are perfectly matched for performance and reliability—and thanks to our advanced manufacturing techniques, Mackie HRS120s deliver "high-end" performance without the high-end price tag. Just bring your favorite CD* to a nearby dealer and compare them side-by-side with the competition. You'll hear the difference right away.

    Yorkville YSS1-2 Active Studio Subwoofer

Yorkville YSS1-2 Active Studio Subwoofer from Yorkville
    • 150-Watt Integrated Power Amplifier
    • Single 12-inch High Performance Subwoofer Speaker
    • High Quality MDF Cabinet
    • Footswitch Signal Bypass
    • Frequency Response of 35 to 150Hz

Demand for additional bottom end support in the studio has led to the introduction of active subwoofers specifically designed for the studio. Todays music demands more bass, especially when synth bass and samples are the norm. The Yorkville YSS1-2 Active Studio Subwoofer answers the call. Features like a 150-watt integrated power amplifier in a high quality MDF cabinet, loaded with a single 12-inch high performance speaker make the YSS1-2 is ideal for any professional studio, project studio, or 5.1-surround mix station. One ingenious feature of the YSS1-2 Studio Subwoofer is a bypass footswitch function on the rear panel. This bypass function allows the engineer to remotely take the subwoofer out of the signal path and pass the full range mix through to the near-field monitors using the optional Yorkville AFS-1 footswitch. During the recording process this allows you to quickly slip between a quiet near-field mix for tracking, and a full-on subwoofer reinforced high volume playback to get a feel for the track in the final mix. A frequency response of 35 to 150Hz means the Yorkville YSS1 is capable of reinforcing the bottom end in virtually any mix situation. The power module controls include a variable frequency selectable crossover, tunable from 60 to 150 Hz, a volume control and phase reverse switch to ensure its working with whatever monitors you choose for the top end of your mix.
