The CS-80V is a software reproduction of the mythical Yamaha CS-80, which is considered by many as the ultimate polyphonic synthesizer. More than 25 years after its release, the time has come to rediscover a sound that has extensively contributed to the history of music.The CS-80V offers all the features of the original synth, plus a new generation of innovative features, taking the original design to a new elevated level: a modulation matrix, a multitimbral mode, an arpeggiator, and a stereo delay.The synthesizer is based on TAE, the proprietary technology developed by Arturia, and already successfully used in the Moog Modular V. The Oddity is modelled on the classic ARP Odyssey synthesiser which was manufactured between 1971 & 1976 and was used by artists as diverse as Gary Numan, Herbie Hancock, Kraftwerk and Portishead. Its place in synth folklore is assured and deserved but due to the small numbers produced, the chances of finding one in good working order for less than a king's ransom is slim. The Oddity takes all that was unique and great about this instrument and, thanks to a painstaking emulative process, brings these qualities to an instrument of the 21st century.
